Preparing Students for College and Careers
Astoria has state-recognized Career and Vocational Education Programs
Astoria High School students complete college credit-bearing coursework and vocational training to prepare them for the world of work and college. Over the last three years, students have earned over 4,200 college credits through our partnership with Clatsop Community College, saving students and their families thousands of dollars in tuition and fees.
Agricultural Science, Industrial Arts, Marine Biology, and paid internships are offered to students as part of our vocational program.
Early Literacy is the foundation of school success and a strong indicator of high school graduation. In 2017-2018, 98% of our Kindergarten students were on grade-level in their literacy skills, and 94% of our 2nd grade students were reading at grade-level by the end of the year.
